October 2018: Congratulations to Seong K. Hur and Yaxi Wang for successfully defending their PhD theses! Seong will be joining UPenn as a post-doctoral fellow soon. Congratulations Seong!
August 2018: Yaxi Wang and Danish Khan gave talks at the FASEB Conference on Phospholipids, held at Steamboat Springs, CO. Danish bagged a travel award as well as the 'Outstanding Poster' award! Good job all!
July 2018: ASBMB announced that Prof. Vytas Bankaitis will receive the 2019 Avanti Award in Lipids. As the ASBMB press release puts it, "[t]he winners were nominated by colleagues and other leaders in their fields for making significant contributions to biochemistry and molecular biology and the training of emerging scientists." He will be honored at ASBMB's annual meeting at Orlando, FL, in April 2019. Great honor for the lab! March 2018: Congratulations to Seong Hur and Dr. Zhigang Xie for their paper in Developmental Cell! The paper identifies a role of PITP/PIP4 signaling in neural stem cell Golgi in optimizing apically directed membrane trafficking/signaling during neurogenesis.
